Letting Go

'I thought I drank like everybody else
': Recovery Day brings stories of hope to
Toronto Annie McCullough, who helped
 found Recovery Day Canada, says
it's time to talk about recovery

God is not in the past
Don't search there
God is not in the future
The future holds fear
Find God in the moment
Lest you be unaware
God exists in the present
Right now and here

Leave room for the spirit
Otherwise ego remains
Spirit works on those hard to get out -
Fear driven stains

Get out of God's way
Own what's yours when you pray
My Son’s Opioid Addiction
Made Me Feel Like A Failure
 On Yom Kippur
You cannot be helped if you fight
Humility is "the way, the truth and the light"

The outcome is God's
Be not at odds
Listen with your heart
Mercy and compassion are the first place to start
Would you not want this for you -
Whether Muslim, Christian, or Jew?

Where you can you must forgive
It is the only way for peace to live
In Heroin Crisis, White Families
Seek Gentler War on Drugs
Bearing malice is the other option
To drink of this chalice is the full adoption -
Of vengeance, hatred, greed and murder
Goodwill and love will see you go further
